Welcome to I.S.L.A. (Island Sound and Light Arts)!
On a beautifully rustic, 200 year old farm on an acre of land overlooking the Baltic Sea.
You are booking Gabriel Gordon for a songwriting residency.
Your stay will include the following:
● Up to 10 hours a day in the studio with Gabriel writing/arranging/producing/recording.
We have a basic studio setup with an upright piano, PA system, 4 mics, several acoustic
and electric guitars, vintage guitar amp, vintage guitar pedals, bass amp, acoustic and
electric bass, midi controller, percussion from Uganda, 4 piece drum kit. Gabriel works on Logic Pro and uses a Universal Audio audio interface with hundreds of plugins to use. There are windows
from the studio that look at the Baltic Sea. The studio time also includes Gabriel
recording tracks for your demos if you wish.
● 3 meals a day (please specify if you have any allergies, food restrictions, etc). Farm to
table organic meats and vegetables. Soft drinks, coffee, tea, water are included. Daily
fresh fruit juices from our small apple orchard when in season.
● Private room with desk, bed, windows overlooking our back yard with hundreds of trees,
private toilet and sink (shower is shared with the family)
● Use of a car if so desired
● Use of a bicycle
● 300 yards from the Baltic Sea where you can swim daily
● Free range around our 8 barns, greenhouse with hanging grapes and 1 acre of land to
set up a spot to sit and meditate, contemplate, write songs, write in your journal, dream or read a book.
TRAVEL
You fly into Copenhagen and then book a flixbus that goes from the airport in Copenhagen
directly to the ferry that brings you to our island. Flixbus.dk is the company. If you get your flight
to land in Copenhagen some time in the morning, then you can take the 1:10pm bus from the
airport which gets you to Rudkøbing in time to catch the 5:25pm ferry to Strynø (our island) and
we pick you up in our car at the harbor. Going back, you take the 7:10am ferry, then the
08:25am bus that gets you back to Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup) at 11:55am ready for any
flight that leaves after 2pm. Those bus tickets are as cheap as $15 each way if bought far
enough in advance. Sometimes flights to and from Aarhus, Denmark or Hamburg, Germany are
cheaper, in which case you would take the train to Svendborg, Denmark from whichever airport
you land at. Gabe would then pick you up in the car in Svendborg.
RESIDENCY RATE
€650 a day. Weekly rate: €3000
We require a deposit of 50 percent of the total on the day of booking to secure a reservation.
The remaining 50 percent will be paid on the first day of the booking.
VIP RESIDENCY RATE
€865 day. Weekly rate: €4000
Includes all the above amenities plus airport/train station pick up and drop off with a meal for the journey, and your own private luxury apartment at our neighbor's farm with full Baltic Sea Views.
